Mystery Cove
Exploring up Lemmens Inlet gave us a healthy respect for Meares Island. Lots of aquaculture going on here. Not to mention house boats anchored in pristine bays surrounded by some of the last old growth forests on Vancouver Island.

Adventure Cove
5 hours up the coast from Ucluelet is the little tourist town of Tofino. On the way we saw more whales but never could determine if they were humpback or gray whales.
The Wreckage
Ucluelet is a fishing village on the north west cornr of Barkley Sound. It also also caters to the surf crowd and the home of the Wreckage, an old museum. It's also home to the Wild Pacific Trail that leads to some of the best sunsets we've ever seen.
Jarvis Island
With a gale blowing 60 miles off the coast we decided to head deep into Barkley Sound to find a safe anchorage. We found a secluded, west facing anchorage and Larry went off to find oysters. Between Jarvis and Jacques Islands there is a centuries old fish trap.
Carmanah!
A pod of 20 well fed and playful killer whales joined us for 1/2 hour off Carmanah Point. This is about the half way point between Victoria and Banfield.
